Moritz Moser-Böhm on the Frankfurt Workgroup Cooperation

Written by Christine Winkler | Sep 5, 2024 2:17:39 PM

Do you want to benefit from best practices in AML and compliance? MCO Pythagoras cooperates with the Frankfurter Arbeitskreis Compliance & Governance, Frankfurt Working Group in Englisch and FrWG in short. Why? Because we want to actively shape the future of the compliance landscape in times of increasing regulation and digitalisation. The FrWG offers a first-class platform for the development of best practices. Read more in the interview with Moritz Moser-Böhm, Strategy Consultant, Juris Doctor at MCO Pythagoras.

Moritz, how did you find out about the Frankfurt Working Group?

Martin Daumann, Director PPA FS Regulatory & Compliance at KPMG, and I met at the BankingClub event in Cologne. He then invited me to join the Frankfurt Working Group, one of Germany's most prestigious platforms for compliance professionals.

What are the benefits of the partnership between Pythagoras and the Frankfurter Working Group (FrWG)?

The partnership allows us to help shape the future of the compliance landscape in an era of increasing regulation and digitalization. The FrWG is a valuable platform for us to collaborate on best practices and promote direct exchange with other experts. We participate in events and give presentations on current compliance topics from a solution provider perspective. This creates a win-win situation.

You will be in Frankfurt next week and have been announced as a speaker. What can the attendees of the 22nd FrWG general meeting expect?

On September 10th, 2024, I will be speaking in Frankfurt on "Sanctions and their practical impact on the financial services sector in Germany and the EU". I also look forward to contributing to the expert panel on topics such as outsourcing banking compliance and learning from the experiences of others.

What makes the Frankfurt Working Group meetings special?

The FrWG is an exclusive forum where over 200 members from more than 100 banks regularly discuss current trends, regulatory challenges and best practices. It provides valuable practical input and develops authoritative standards for the financial sector.

Why is it important for you to share information on topics such as AML, sanctions and non-financial risk?

Increasing sanctions and counter-terrorism requirements are a major challenge for the financial sector. FrWG provides the ideal platform to work together with other practitioners to develop solutions that are not only compliant with regulations but also practical. My aim is not only to keep abreast of developments through the FrWG, but also to add value for the community.

What can MCO Pythagoras customers expect from your participation in the FrWG?

Pythagoras relies on intelligent automation solutions for KYC, AML and ESG compliance. By joining the FrWG, we are strengthening our network and expertise to develop customized solutions for our customers that meet the high regulatory requirements.
