Privacy policies and privacy statements on the processing of personal data by Pythagoras Ltd. in accordance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for “natural persons” and in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG) of the Swiss Confederation

Data protection for data subjects in the European Union was significantly strengthened by the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on May 25, 2018. It goes without saying that we also comply with the obligations to provide information and ensure accountability toward data subjects in accordance with the GDPR. We consequently present the following information:

Privacy Policy

The operator of this website takes protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and handle it in accordance with statutory data protection regulations, in particular the GDPR, and this Privacy Policy. You can normally use our website without disclosing personal data.
If personal data (such as your name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our sites, it is always disclosed voluntarily, where possible. This data is not transmitted to third parties without your explicit consent. We point out that there may be security gaps when data is transferred in the Internet (e.g. in communication by e-mail). Data cannot be completely protected against being accessed by third parties.

If our website is used only for information purposes, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise send us information, we only collect data that your browser sends to our server (“server log files”). When you call our website, we collect the following data that is technically necessary for us to display our website to you:

  • Our website you visited
  • The date and time of access
  • The amount of data sent (in bytes)
  • The source/link from which you accessed the site
  • The browser used
  • The operating system used
  • The IP address used (if applicable in anonymized form)

The data is processed in accordance with Article 6 (1) point (f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving our website’s stability and functionality. The data is not transmitted or used elsewhere. However, we reserve the right to examine the server log files subsequently if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.

Privacy statement on the use of Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses cookies. They are text files that are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyze how you use the website. The information on your use of this website generated using the cookie is usually transferred to and stored on a server operated by Google in the USA.
However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other countries that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The complete IP address is transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there only in exceptional cases. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services for the website operator relating to website and Internet use. The IP address sent from your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined by Google with other data.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by activating the respective setting in your browser software. However, we point out that you might then not be able to use all the features of this website in full. You can prevent recording of the data relating to your use of the website and generated by the cookie (including your IP address) and processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link:

Cookies

We use cookies on various pages in order to make your visit to our website appealing and to enable you to use certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device. Some of the cookies used by us are deleted when the browser session is over, i.e. when you close your browser. They are termed session cookies. Other cookies remain on your device and enable us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognize your browser again the next time you visit the website. They are termed persistent cookies. If cookies are placed, they collect and process certain user information, such as browser and location data and IP address values, on an individual basis. Persistent cookies are deleted automatically after a predefined time, which may differ depending on the cookie.

In some cases, cookies help simplify the ordering process by storing settings (such as remembering the content of a virtual shopping cart for a later visit to the website). If personal data is also processed by individual cookies we have implemented, it is processed either to perform the contract in accordance with Article 6 (1) point (b) GDPR or, in accordance with Article 6 (1) point (f) GDPR, to safeguard our legitimate interests in ensuring the website offers the best-possible functionality and in ensuring that our site is customer-friendly and can be used efficiently when you visit it.

We may cooperate with advertising partners who help make our Internet offering more interesting for you. To enable that, cookies from partner companies (third-party cookies) are then stored on your hard drive when you visit our website. If we cooperate with such advertising partners, we notify you of the use of such cookies and the scope of the information collected individually and separately in the following sections.

Please note that you can set your browser so that you are notified when cookies are placed and can decide whether to accept them on a case-by-case basis or to exclude acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general. Every browser differs in the way that cookie settings are managed. The procedure for that is described in the browser’s Help menu, where you can find an explanation of how to change your cookie settings. You can find that information for the browser you use under the following links:

Server log files

The provider of the website automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically sends to us.

They are:
The type of browser you use and its version
The operating system you use
The referrer URL
The host name of the computer system accessing our website
The time of the server request

This data cannot be used to identify specific persons. This data is not combined with data from other sources. We reserve the right to examine this data subsequently if we find concrete indications of unlawful use.

Integration of third-party services and content

Third-party content, such as YouTube videos, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, may be integrated in this online offering. For that to be possible, the content providers (referred to in the following as “third-party providers”) must know users’ IP address. Without the IP address, they cannot send the content to the user’s browser. The IP address is therefore necessary so that this content can be shown. We endeavor only to use content where the provider in question requires the IP address solely to deliver its content. However, we have no influence on whether the third-party providers store the IP address, for example for statistical purposes. We inform users about that if we are aware of it.

Objection to advertising mails

We hereby expressly prohibit the contact data we are obliged to publish on our website from being used to send us unsolicited advertising or information material. The operators of the website explicitly reserve the right to take legal action against anyone sending them unsolicited advertising material, e.g. in the form of spam e-mails.

Contact form

Personal data is collected when we are contacted (using a contact form or by e-mail, for example). The data collected when a contact form is used can be seen from the contact form in question. This data is stored and used solely for replying to your inquiry or contacting you, as well as for related technical administration activities. The legal basis for processing the data is our legitimate interest in replying to your inquiry in accordance with Article 6 (1) point (f) GDPR. If the purpose of the contact is to conclude a contract, the additional legal basis for processing of the data is Article 6 (1) point (b) GDPR. Your data is erased after we have dealt with your inquiry completely; that is the case when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the issue in question has been conclusively clarified and if there are no retention obligations under the law that prevent the data from being erased.

reCAPTCHA

We use the service reCAPTCHA from Google Inc. (Google) to protect the inquiries you submit using an Internet form. This query is used to differentiate whether an entry is made by a human or there is possible misuse resulting from data entered by an automated program (“bot”). As part of this query, your IP address and, if applicable, other data needed by Google for the reCAPTCHA service are also sent to Google. Your input is sent to Google for this purpose and used further there. However, your IP address is truncated beforehand by Google in Member States of the European Union or in other countries that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The complete IP address is sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there only in exceptional cases. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of this service on behalf of the operator of this website. The IP address sent from your browser as part of reCAPTCHA is not combined by Google with other data. Google has different data protection regulations that apply to this data. You can find more information on Google’s Privacy Policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

Leadinfo:
We use the lead generation service provided by Leadinfo B.V., Rotterdam, The Netherlands, which recognizes visits of companies to our website based on IP addresses and shows us related publicly available information, such as company names or addresses. In addition, Leadinfo places two first-party cookies for providing transparency on how our visitors use our website and the tool processes domains from provided form inputs (e.g. “leadinfo.com”) to correlate IP addresses with companies and to enhance its services. For additional information, please visit www.leadinfo.com. On this page: www.leadinfo.com/en/opt-out you have an opt-out option. Please note that by using our services, data about your behavior may be collected and processed. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Online marketing – Use of Google AdWords conversion tracking.

This website uses the online advertising program “Google AdWords” and, as part of Google AdWords, conversion tracking from Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). We use Google AdWords to draw attention to our attractive offerings on external websites with the aid of advertising by means of what are termed Google AdWords. We can determine how successful the individual promotional measures are in relation to the data for the campaigns. Our goal in doing that is to display advertising that is of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you, and to enable fair charging of advertising costs.

The cookie for conversion tracking is set if a user clicks on an AdWords advertisement placed by Google. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to identify users personally. If the user visits specific pages on this website and if the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we will be able to tell that the user clicked on the ad and was forwarded to that page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. That means cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected by the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted-in for conversion tracking. Customers are informed about the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were forwarded to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not obtain any information enabling them to identify users personally. If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can block its use easily by disabling the Google conversion tracking cookie with the user settings in your web browser. You are then not included in the conversion tracking statistics. We use Google AdWords pursuant to our legitimate interest in ensuring targeted advertising in accordance with Article 6 (1) point (f) GDPR.

Google LLC is based in the USA and is certified under the Privacy Shield data protection agreement between the USA and Europe, which ensures that it complies with the level of data protection prevailing in the EU.

Further information on Google’s data privacy regulations can be found at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?gl=de&hl=en

You can permanently disable the placement of cookies for ad preferences by preventing this by means of the respective setting in your browser software or downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=de

Please note that certain functions on this website might not be able to be used, or can only be used to a restricted extent, if you have disabled the use of cookies.

Google Maps

Our website uses Google Maps (API) from Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive maps so as to visually present geographic information. Use of this service enables our location to be displayed and makes it easier for you to get there.

When you visit subpages where a Google Maps map is integrated, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to Google’s servers in the USA and stored there. This is done irrespectively of whether Google offers a user account and you are logged into this account or you do not have a user account. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want Google to associate your actions with your profile, you must log out of your account before activating the button. Google stores your data (even that of users who are not logged on) as user profiles and analyzes these. They are analyzed in particular on the basis of Google’s legitimate interests in displaying personalized advertising, conducting market research and/or designing its website to suit needs in accordance with Article 6 (1) point (f) GDPR. You have the right to object to creation of these user profiles, but must contact Google in order to exercise this right.

Google LLC is based in the USA and is certified under the Privacy Shield data protection agreement between the USA and Europe, which ensures that it complies with the level of data protection prevailing in the EU.

If you do not wish the data collected as part of your part of use of Google Maps to be sent to Google in future, you can completely deactivate the Google Maps web service by disabling the JavaScript application in your browser. You can then no longer use Google Maps and so display maps on this Internet site.

You can read Google’s terms of service at https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=en&gl=de. You can find the additional terms of service for Google Maps at

https://www.google.com/help/terms_maps/.
You can find details on data protection in relation to the use of Google Maps in Google’s Privacy Policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=de.

Google Web Fonts

This site uses web fonts from Google LLC., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”) to ensure consistent fonts are displayed on it. When a page is called, your browser loads the required web fonts in its cache so that texts and fonts are displayed correctly.

To enable that, the browser you use must establish a connection with Google’s servers. As a result, Google is notified that our website was called from your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used to make the presentation of our online offerings consistent and more appealing. That is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6 (1) point (f) GDPR. If your browser does not support Web Fonts, a default font from your computer is used.

Google LLC is based in the USA and is certified under the Privacy Shield data protection agreement between the USA and Europe, which ensures that it complies with the level of data protection prevailing in the EU.
